Good foundation work is one of those things that's easy to overlook - until something goes wrong. Every straight wall, every plumb corner, every properly braced form panel matters. It all adds up to a structure that will hold up for decades. That's why we jump at the chance to work alongside crews who take this stuff seriously.
We had a great day out with Mason Ailie and the team at Ailie Construction, working through the forming and pouring of these foundation walls. The site had been excavated down to grade, forms were set on multiple sections of the build, and the crew was deep into the process of getting everything locked in before the pour. This is exactly the kind of coordinated, detail-oriented work that doesn't leave room for shortcuts.
The forming process on a job like this involves a lot of moving parts. Panels have to be set plumb and square, bracing has to be dialed in, and the form ties have to hold against the pressure of wet concrete. When you're working with a wooded, sloped site like this one - with excavated banks rising on multiple sides - you have to be thoughtful about how you stage materials and manage the work zone. The Ailie Construction crew had it under control.
What we do on the excavation side sets the table for exactly this kind of work. A clean, accurate dig means the forms go in right, the footings sit where they're supposed to, and the whole build gets off on the right foot. When our excavation work flows directly into a solid forming and pour operation, it's a good day. That's the kind of collaboration that produces foundations built to last.
Foundation work is where a new build either starts strong or creates headaches down the road. We're glad to be part of projects where every crew on site takes that seriously - and we're always glad to connect with builders and contractors who feel the same way.
